Leveraging timing on Twitter is a great way to increase your reach, and get more traffic to your website.

The better your timing on your tweets the more retweets you will get, which will also help you get more followers.

Scheduling your tweets with a Twitter Tool like Hootsuite gives you complete control over when your content goes out, and using a tool like buffer is a great way to space your tweets out automatically without having to specify a time manually for each tweet.

Buffer co-founder Leo recently published the findings of some very interesting data from their userbase:

“People that start to Buffer their Tweets increased clicks on links they posted by 200% within 2 weeks of using. The amount of retweets doubles on average. Finally Buffer users increase their follower count by 104 followers within 3 weeks on average.” – the study concluded.

The social media scientist Dan Zarrella has studied tweet timing and determined that tweets later in the day and later in the week are the most retweetable so you should share your best content around these times for maximum reach.
